This year, under the kind patronage of His Excellency Sergei Ivanovitch Kislyak, the Russian Federation’s Ambassador to the United States, Maslenitsa will once again be celebrated at the Russian Embassy, on Friday, March 11, beginning at 7:00 PM.

By Way of Explanation

A number of parishioners and friends of our church community in Washington, DC have expressed disappointment at encountering Russian text after opening our new website. We are sincerely sorry if this has caused inconvenience and frustration.

Our mailing system and Parish Life for Feburary

Due to a technical glitch we were not able to send out the electronic version of Parish Life for February.  We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to have the system up and running shortly. In meantime you can access both Russian and English versions of our monthly publication on our site:

Snow Situation at Church

Congratulations to all our wonderful Tatianas on their namesday! Went over to the church this morning in the van and got stuck at the corner of 17th St. & Shepherd. A number of good neighbors and our caretaker Ilya Zakharov. came to my rescue. Didn't take a photo, but little has changed from the pic I sent you yesterday and am attaching here.
